The Trials Alliance is a group devoted to the positive growth of the observed trials sport with an emphasis in providing an inspiring environment to do so. This website will serve as a portal for information on trials riding, competition schedules, demo show dates, and more. Be ready for our next move. . .
Observed Bike Trials riding isn’t merely tricks and stunts, it is a sport dedicated to bikes and honing technical bike handling skills beyond what we think we can do. Methodological movement, critical judgement, meticulous motion, controlled energy, systematic kinetics are all just fancy terms placed to describe the importance of each and every gesture while riding bike trials. To advance forward, stated clearly and in detail with leaving no room for confusion or doubt. Bike trials is a battle with oneself for perfecting movement.
This idea isn’t limited to riding on rocks and logs either but in every sense of the notion. Riding dirt jumps, cross country trails, skate parks, downhill tracks, and even on the road, bike trials skills are applicable in almost every aspect of cycling. Boiled down, it is the passion for what we do, and to put it simply, focusing on the one thing that holds us back. . . ourselves.
Get on a bike and ride a few steps and then stop. If you fought with the bike to keep yourself from falling over then you have just entered the world of bike trials. This is the most basic step in what we do; trying not to fall over.
Is the cornerstone to riding bike trials. Before you can walk everyone must learn to crawl even if we want to start off running. Balance is the most fundamental key element in bike trials riding given the nature of the sport and with the lack of continued forward motion. Breaking down bike riding to its most basic element leaves us frozen in space and time. Unfortunately since the natural laws of physics demands to be respected, we find ourselves trying to fight the absolute character of gravity. First to balance in one position, then to manipulate the bike to move forward over obstacles, and then taking us upward to disobey the very laws we set out to be in tune with.
This aspect of progression is what takes us from what our first inclination we had to control our movement by not moving to seeing how far we can push our own limitations given the boundaries we have placed on them. Complicated? maybe, but this is the very thing that draws us in. Struggling against the natural laws of physics despite the reality of failing but isn’t this the very reason we continue to breathe and fight to push forward. Pain does hurt but getting that flawless glimpse of godliness as we defy our own limitations is the very reason we ride bike trials.
